Calling all dinosaur fans… Join Dinomania and Ranger Chris for an unforgettable adventure this summer at National Museum Cardiff. Prepare yourselves for a one-of-a-kind event that will leave you roaring with excitement!
- Get ready to dive into the world of prehistoric creatures. Ranger Chris, an expert in all thing’s dinosaur, will take you on an educational journey through time. Listen to fascinating facts, showstopping stories, and become a dinosaur expert yourself. From size and behavior to extinction, you’ll learn it all!
- Brace yourselves for a jaw-dropping encounter with Dinomania’s walking dinosaurs! Don’t miss the chance to get up close and personal with these life-sized creatures. You may also meet some adorable baby dinosaurs.
- Explore fossils, replicas, and much more. From the mighty T-Rex to the majestic Triceratops, prepare to be amazed by the lifelike representations of these ancient wonders.

Important information:
- Suitability: Families. Age guidance: 3+
- Price: £15 Adults | £15 Children. Please book a ticket for every person attending.
- This is a 90-minute experience, that’s split into two sections. Part 1: 45-minute show / Part 2: 45-minute slot to roam the exhibition space and to meet Dinomania’s dinos.
- British Sign Language time slots are available. If you would like to attend when a British Sign Language interpreter is present, please ensure that you choose the BSL time slot, and confirm during booking that BSL interpretation is required.
- Limited tickets available. Tickets are non-refundable. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Opening Hours
From Tuesday 5 November until 28 February 2025, we will be open 10am – 4pm.
Galleries close at 3.45pm.
Open for 6 days a week Tuesday to Sunday. Closed Mondays but open Bank Holiday Monday.
Christmas and New Year: Closed 23 - 26 December and 1 January.
Parking
A Visitor Car Park is situated behind the Museum, off Museum Avenue. Visitors parking here will receive a ticket at the point of entry and need to pay £6.50 for the day at a pay-station located at the rear of the car park. Please note that the pay-stations only accept card payments – no cash payments are accepted. Visitors can use any credit/debit cards (except for American Express), or Apple or Android Pay.
Parking is free to blue badge holders. Please use the intercom at the exit barrier to verify your blue badge permit. Disabled parking is also available at the front of the Museum, on Gorsedd Gardens Road.

Eat, Drink, Shopping
- The Museum café in the Main Hall is open every day 10am-4pm offering a range of drinks and snacks.
- The restaurant is open weekends and bank holidays at 11am-3pm.
Accessibility
If you prefer to visit when we’re less crowded, there are usually fewer people on our site from 3pm each day.
