Trevithick's Penydarren locomotive model

Model in steel of Trevithick's Penydarren locomotive of 1804. Working model with flanged wheels running on 10¼ inch gauge conventional flat bottomed rail track. Non-motorised, intended to be pushed by a battery-electric drive unit. Model built from Museum’s plans (P2010.7 to 40) of the Museum’s full size conjectural reconstruction of the locomotive (1992.63/1), making the model a representation of Trevithick’s Gateshead locomotive of 1805 re-gauged and altered to accord with known dimensions of the Penydarren locomotive.
