Burnisher

Burnisher head and tang only. A small hand tool used to burnish the surface of leather on shoes and boots. It comprises a metal head which fitted into a short wooden handle, now missing. The iron head was used hot after applying was, inks or polishes, for giving a lustre to the surface of the leather, especially to the soles and heels. Also known as glazing and sleeker iron.
