Topics covered: the geographic span of the workforce, the change in extraction from men cutting by hand to mechanised extraction, the support of the blacksmith to aid productivity, productivity which produced 1600 tonnes per week 1400 of this went to Llanwern & 200 tonnes to domestic market. Underground stables and horses. Men working at Big Pit carved their names into wooden board. Comradeship of men working in mine in comparison to other industries.
