Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Cream soup and stand, Midwinter 'Fashion' shapes F51 and F52, earthenware, the cup of an open form with square, inset base, rounded sides and plain rim, two angular loop handles, the stand is square with rounded corners and edges, foot ring and gently curving sides with no discernible rim; the cup is decorated on the exterior and handles with a turquoise blue semi-matt glaze, the stand is hand-painted with the 'Magic Moments' pattern, which comprises horizontal, occasionally intersecting lines in teal, with evenly spaced square and rectangular blocks of colour in red, yellow and turquoise blue, painted in a loose manner so that the brushstrokes are visible.
