Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Early Medieval copper alloy mount

Zoomorphic copper alloy mount in the shape of a stylised bird. The wings are defined as a pointed leaf shape and the tail a flattened triangle with horizontal, slightly bevelled lower edge. Two punched dots represent the eyes and the mount has been perforated through the body by a single hole presumably for a rivet that would have fastened it to another object.
