(7136gt) : North Sands type vessel built 1942 by Marine Industries, Sorel, Quebec, (with engines by John Inglis Co. Ltd, Toronto), as LAURENTIDE PARK for Park Steamship Co, Montreal (managed by McLean, Kennedy Ltd., Montreal). 1946 – Ownership transferred to the UK Ministry of Transport (managed by P.D. Hendry & Sons, London). 1947 – Returned to Canadian Government. Rebuilt to 7131gt. 1950 – Sold to Laurentide Steamship Co Ltd., and renamed WINTER HILL (managed by Counties Ship Management Ltd). 1953 – Same owner, but managed by Rethymnis & Kulukundis Ltd. 1956 – Renamed PETITE HERMINE (same owner but managed by Papachristidis Co. Ltd). 1960 – Sold to Canuk Lines Ltd., and renamed CANUK PORT. 1961 – Sold to A. Fragistas & S. Manessis and renamed PANTANASSA. She was broken up in China in 1967. (info from various scources)
