A Collier. Built 1937 by S.P. Austin & Son Ltd., Wear Dock Yard, Sunderland, for the London Power Co. Ltd. She was named after the mechanical and electrical engineer George Balfour (1872–1941), who co-founded Balfour Beatty. 1948 – Taken over from London Power Co, by British Electricity Authority (BEA) - renamed Central Electricity Generating Board (CEGB) in 1958. She was broken up in 1959. (wikipedia)
