Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Name plate

An iron manufacturer’s name plate removed from an object manufactured by the Dry Dock Works at Port Dinorwic (part of Dinorwig Slate Quarry Company).

It is believed to have been taken off a three foot six gauge slate wagon that was used at Dorothea Quarry, Dyfryn Nantlle. It is therefore an example of the Dry Dock Works at Port Dinorwic manufacturing objects for other quarries.
