Coal miner's safety helmet
Compressed card safety helmet used by Richard Tedstone at Cwmtillery Colliery. Richard Tedstone worked at Cwmtillery Colliery and was training to be a colliery manager. However, the explosion at nearby Six Bells Colliery in 1961 made him reconsider his career and he left the coal industry.
