Frayne's Pit - An Overwind, about 1890. This shows the scene after an overwound cage has been wound over the headframe and has partly demolished the winding engine house. The headframe at this pit in Bedminster, Bristol contains no devices for arresting the cage at overwind. Black & white framed photograph.
