Monumental Vase

Cooper, Waistel (1921 - 2003)

Vase, buff stoneware, cylindrical form tapering to the base, sharply turned in at the shoulder to a narrow neck with widely flared rim, mottled green/brown glaze inside, the outside roughly incised with shallow horizontal grooves and stained dark brown with manganese oxide, the ridges between the grooves revealing the pale buff stoneware body.
