S.S. PENDENNIS (painting)

The S.S. PENDENNIS was built in 1894 by Gray's of West Hartlepool, for the Pendennis Steamship Co. Ltd. (R.B. Chellew, Truro, Manager). The 2123 gross ton vessel was captured by a U-Boat on 8 July 1916 and was taken to Germany as a war prize. She was restored to the firm after the Armistice and the firm moved from Truro to Cardiff in 1920.
