Bronze Age Gold from Wales

South Wales ironworks, transparancy

Colour transparency of painting attributed to Penry Williams. Its location is generally accepted as being based mainly or entirely on Rhymney (Bute / west bank) Iron Works. It shows the centre-right portion of the scene depicted in 89.56I/1 - the Bute (west bank) Works blowing engine house on the right with a decorative façade and the boiler house chimney behind at the extreme right, two blast furnaces to the left of the engine house (one almost obscured by the façade of the engine house), a spherical blast regulator on four masonry columns in the centre, and part of the forges and mills in the distance.
