Bronze Age Gold from Wales
A young girl of the Gradenigo family with a dove
GUARDI, Francesco (1712-1793)
Guardi came from a family of Venetian painters and is best known for his townscapes of Venice. This portrait probably dates from around 1768-70 and was originally paired with a full-length portrait of a boy, also with a dove on a lead. Both portray children of the Venetian nobleman Jacobo Gradenigo.
