Photograph "Pit Disaster at Senghenydd. "Heroes All". A rescue party leaving the Pit after a night search". Rescue teams were used at Senghenydd for many days, searching for survivors and fighting fires which were raging underground. One of the teams is shown leaving the pit after their shift.
