Bronze Age Gold from Wales
Vase
Handbuilt stone ware vase, 'Optical pot', slightly irregular flattened form almost straight sided curving into a flat base, slightly everted rim, front edge lower than back. Lightweight pitted body, cream interior with blue staining around upper edge, matt blue green reverse and sides, front painted with geometric illusionistic design of dark yellow and brown triangular slabs on a cream ground, design outlined in dark brown.
