Bronze Age Gold from Wales
Jar and cover
Storage jar and cover of red earthenware. Standing on a flat base, with plain ovoid body and pronounced rim; the cover slightly domed, its knop with straight spreading sides and domed top. The upper part of the jar and the outside of the cover coated in a pale buff slip; the body of the jar decorated with four trailed motifs, three in pale slip tinged with green, one in brown. An amber glaze covers the outside and inside of the jar, the outside and part of the inside of the cover; the foot of the jar and the top of its rim unglazed.
