S.S. BARON HERRIES, glass negative

¾ Starboard bow view of S.S. BARON HERRIES at Cardiff Docks.

Built 1940 by Lithgows, Port Glasgow, with engine by David Rowan & Co., Glasgow, for H. Hogarth & Sons, Ardrossan. 1960 – Sold to Greek owners, and renamed ATHOS II. She grounded on Hairsis Island on 16th March 1962, and the wreck sold for scrap. Breaking up began in June of that year. (Tony Allen’s wrecksite)
