General view of Dare Colliery. Shows preparation area for coal, where it was sorted by size through screens (which were found on the 'bridge' in the foreground), the coal then falling into trucks for transportation. The railway trucks belonged to the Ocean Company, owned by David Davies. The offices of the Ocean Company were sited in the Ocean Buildings, Bute Crescent, Bute Town, Cardiff.
