Teapot

Teapot and cover, red terracotta eathenware; globular body, standing on a shallow rounded foot-rim, rouletted and burnished a red-brown, ear-shaped handle with ball terminal, upturned tapering spout, domed cover with a wide rounded rim, deep locating ring with incised retaining clip, steam hole, and back-curving loop finial; coated in a mottled off-white tin-glaze, the body ornamented on each side with five broad blue circles containing a spot, interspersed with further blue spots, the handle and spout densely spotted in blue, the cover rim and finial coated in the same blue veined with green, the remainder white spotted with blue to match the handle and spout.
