Mug

Mug, earthenware, rounded spreading foot-rim, cylindrical body divided into six panels by vertical incised lines, a band of moulded anthemions to the foot-rim and to the lip-rim, loop handle with raised thumb-spur and further spurs below; decorated with to the front of the body the inscription 'NANCY. QUICK BENNETTS / 1837', a small brown motif below the date, painted sprays of flowers and foliage in red, pink, blue, yellow and green to either side of the inscription, a small sprig of flowers above the inscription, brown bands to the foot-rim and lip-rim, brown anthemions and further brown markings to the handle.
