Mercantile Marine War Medal

Mercantile Marine Medal, 1914-1918. Issued to Thomas Jones. Obverse depicts head of George V surrounded by inscription. Reverse depicts bow of steamship in rough seas with inscription below. Inscription on rim. On a green, white and red striped ribbon. In original box of issue (85.28I/3.2) and also with original envelope dated 4 Jan. 1927 (85.28I/3.3). With the medal is the letter of issue from the Board of Trade (85.28I/3.4) and two authority to wear forms also from the Board of Trade (85.28I/3.5 & 6).
