Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Deep Navigation Colliery, photograph

Wagon makers at Deep Navigation Colliery. Colliery companies generally owned and managed their own wagon fleets, which were painted in their house style. This photograph shows the first wagon turned out of the wagon shops at Deep Navigation, Treharris, for the Ocean Coal Company. The wagon builders pose proudly with their tools in front of their handiwork.
