KINPURNEY, glass negative

(1944gt) : Built 1902 by a.McMillan & Sons Ltd., Dumbarton, as MARGHERITA for P.Samengo. 1912 - Owned by C.K.Hansen of Copenhagen and renamed OSSA. 1915 - Owned by John Stewart & Co., Glasgow, and renamed KINPURNEY. Om 15th January 1917, she was sailing from Cardiff to PORT Nolloth, South Africa, with a cargo of coal, coke and limestone, when she was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-84, 110 miles west from Bishop Rock. There were no casualties.
