Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Minutes

A copy of minutes of a meeting held in Dinorwig Quarry office, 12th May 1960. The meeting reports on a three month trial period of a new method of working the lower parts of Dinorwig Quarry (Hafod Owen, Pant Ceubren, Vivian), as the previous method was proving to be costly. The minutes are written in Welsh. Present at the meeting were Mr T. E. Williams, Mr Peris Roberts, Mr John Davies, Mr John Parry, Mr John E. Jones, and Mr Alun Roberts. These minutes were Mr Alun Roberts’ personal copy. The minutes were found by Alwen Roberts (8 Rhes y Faenol, Llanberis), when she was clearing out her neighbour, Mr Alun Roberts’, house (7 Rhes y Faenol) after he passed away during the early 1990’s. It is believed that Mr Alun Roberts was an active member of the North Wales Quarrymen’s Union, and could have been present at the meeting as the quarrymen’s representative.
