Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Necklace

Necklace, mixed media, comprising a chain and pendant, the chain made from twelve crosses of six different sizes all forged from coathanger wire and linked by plain rings, the two largest (linked to the pendant) each with a silver-mounted fragment of polished off-white beach glass at its intersection, the pendant formed from a further coathanger-wire cross mounted with twisted wire and a silver nail onto a white metal measuring spoon, the cross with a silver-mounted fragment of polished off-white beach glass at its intersection encircled by a wire ring to form a Celtic-style cross, the handle of the measuring spoon split lengthwise with each half wound into a tight scroll to which the chain is attached, a lamentation scene cut from a postcard glued in the square-ended bowl of the spoon.
