Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Ticket holder

Wooden holder with metal ends. Each side has two rows of seven clips on each side making 14 per side, total 28. Filled with tickets from a range of Welsh and English operators suggesting it was either filled or augmented by a collector rather than the selection being original to the ticket holder. Spring clip ticket holders were widely, perhaps almost universally used by UK bus conductors in the middle decades of the twentieth century. The number of clips was determined by the number of destinations and fare stages on the particular route.
