Aberaman Fireclay & Sanitary Pipe Works, photograph

Photograph captioned 'Aberaman Pipeworks, Aberdare. A works first built in 1866 by a famous colliery owning company for making bricks from clay which was obtained from a nearby level. The manufacture of sanitary ware took over from bricks in 1915. The works' buildings bear the appearance of age but are still meeting the needs of modern communities. The large number of U-pipes will find their way to new housing sites and to builders' yards.' Mounted on card. Made for the exhibition RECORDING WALES 3 in 1970/1971.
