Bronze Age Gold from Wales
Candlestick, chamber
Candlestick, tin-plate, oblong base with rounded corners, tube-shaped shaft into the top of which fits a removable sconce with oblong top, to one side of the shaft is attached the cone-shaped snuffer, to one side of the base a vertical curved handle for carrying; covered with a dark maroon japan to the upper surfaces and a black japan to the underside, dotted all over with silver stars to which the varnish has given a gold tinge.
