Nantgarw China Works (1813 - 1822)

Cup and saucer, soft-paste porcelain, inverted bell-shaped cup with a high kidney-shaped handle, circular saucer with high sides, footring; the rims are decorated with gilt line borders and painted with pink roseheads on beds of gilt moss, the central reserve of the saucer is painted with one pink rosehead on a bed of gilt moss circled by a continuous border of leaves in gold, the bottom of the cup is painted with one pink rosehead on a bed of gilt moss and the exterior of the cup is banded with a continuous border of gold leaves.
