Bronze Age Gold from Wales

Middle Bronze Age bronze unlooped palstave

Less graceful in shape than palstaves 18.77/1-4 and roughly cast and finished. The 'shield' is flat and only defined by the continuation of the flanges. There is a faint mid-rib below the shield. The butt is slightly damaged. There are hammer marks visible on both of the blade surfaces.
