ss IRENE K. (4928gt) : Built 1924 by Irvine Shipbuilding & Drydock Co. Ltd., West Hartlepool, as SALMONPOOL (4803gt) for Sir R.Ropner & Sons. 1940 – Seized at Sandefjord, Norway, by the Germans and renamed PUTZIG. 1945 – Returned to the UK and renamed EMPIRE SALMONPOOL. 1947 – Sold to Kyriakides Shipping Co., (N.G.Kyriakides) London, and renamed IRENE K. 1955 – Renamed WHITE LODGE. She was sold later that year to Maritime Transport Overseas SA, Costa Rica and Panama, and renamed PUNTERAS. She was broken up at Aviles, Spain in 1958.
