Mercantile Marine War Medal 1914-1918. Obverse depicts head of George V. Reverse depicts a ship in rough seas with inscription below. Inscription on rim. On a red, white and green ribbon. In original envelope and box (2002.33/2-3).

S.S. Tredegar Hall (3,764gt). Completed in 1906 by W.M. Doxford & Sons Ltd, Sunderland, for Tredegar Hall Steamship Co. Ltd. (Edward Nicholl & Co. Managers), Cardiff. The ship was a Turret deck vessel. She was registered at London. In 1917 she was sold to Hansen Bros. Ltd, Cardiff. On 23 October 1917 she was torpedoed and sunk 4½ miles from Flamborough Head.
