Cinerary Jar on a Floating Ground VI

Floating cinerary jar with cover in dark grey Petersen Tegl stoneware body with large grit inclusions, the ground formed of a wooden base and back covered with light grey Venetian plaster, the jar with a flat unglazed base and circular cross-section, tapering sides and flat shoulders with circular inset cover, the body has a single concentric, horizontal 'rib' around its circumference appproximately half way up the body, which has been left in a relatively unfinished state in some areas and small scrpaings of clay are visible, the plaster base is constructed in wood with a layer of Venetian plaster on the visible faces and has a flat platform and perpendicular back.
