Late Bronze Age bronze socketed axe

Looped, with a projecting cornice at the mouth of the sub-rectangular socket and three slightly converging ribs on each face. One face is damaged, while the whole implement is fractured and bent.

Collection Method: surface find

Notes: Approximately a dozen copper alloy objects were found during ploughing, according to the 'Bulletin of the Board of Celtic Studies', Volume 1 (1922). Apart from this item and 20.528/2 in the NMW collections, there is no information as to what befell the other objects.
