The ABERLEMNO in a Gale (painting)

Purvis, T.G. (Purvis is virtually the only ship portraitist with definate links with Cardiff, although he lived here for a considerable time he was not a native of the town.)

Port view of the sailing vessel ABERLEMNO in a gale. Signed bottom left, undated. Framed.

The ABERLEMNO was a three-masted iron-hulled barque built in 1876 and surveyed in Cardiff. She was owned by Tutton's of Swansea and was largely engaged in general trading.
