Portable air compressor, formerly used by 'Dafydd Taff' from Llanberis at Treflan Slate Quarry (and elsewhere), c.1940-1950. Mounted on iron wheels, spoked, 2' diameter, 4" tyres, rigid axles. Front pair are centre mounted and pivoted to allow steering via a drawbar. 2-cylinder Ingersoll-Rand compressor units are powered by 4-cylinder petrol motors, manufactured by Waukesha Motor Co.
