ss MANCHESTER DIVISION (6027gt) : Built 1918 by Irvine’s Shipbuilding & Dry Docks Co Ltd, West Hartlepool, (engine by Richardsons, Westgarth Ltd of Hartlepool), for Manchester Liners Ltd. She had the distinction of ramming and sinking an enemy U-Boat off Flamborough Head while on her maiden voyage. 1953 – After surviving both World Wars and serving a record 35 years, she was broken up at T.W.Ward, at Briton Ferry, South Wales.
