Ogival chape, with lozengic section, central perforation, median ribs and flattened edges. Tip missing; no perforations. 31.62/49a is the chape head (on display) 31.62/49b is the chape tip (not on display) These two items are both derived from the same object.

Site Name: Crowther's Camp, Guilsfield

Date: 1862

Notes: Found during the digging of a field drain, packed tight as though originally deposited in a perishable container, on the south-east side of Rhuallt, 100m from Crowther's Camp, an Early Iron Age hillfort, near Guilsfield.
