Loading scrap metal aboard S.S. DUINO at Barry Docks, using three dockside cranes fitted with cactus-type grabs. In this way, 9,420 tons of No.1 scrap was loaded in 19 days compared to 41 days for the same tonnage loaded by the usual method of slings and nets.
