Bronze Age Gold from Wales
Roman copper alloy Trumpet brooch
Trumpet brooch with a solid chain loop. The spring is recessed into the back of the head and held by an axis bar through two side lugs. This suggests a late trumpet brooch, probably second century (Hattatt 1987, 135, no.960). The bow is very thin and only decorated on the front, moulding consisting of four transverse ribs of different heights. The foot ends in a conical knob.
