View shows breeches buoy apparatus used to rescue seamen from the S.S. CITY OF CARDIFF, Pendeen, Cornwall, 12 March 1912.

(5500 dwt) : Completed 1906 by Ropner, Stockton-on-Tees. She was the first Reardon-Smith vessel. Her master on the maiden voyage was Captain John Smith (Sir William's elder brother), with his son Harry Smith as Second Officer.
