Roman samian bowl
A small sherd from quite a small bowl. The surviving decoration is of a bear and a rosette: the bear, though used horizontally, looks as though it should be standing on its hind legs. The type is not in Oswold. The rosette is large and probably seven petalled, it may be Rogers C 35 or C 37. Potters such as Cettus and Docilis are possibilities, and the date is in little doubt.
Dr 37 is a hemispherical decorated bowl
