Drug jar, tin-glazed buff earthenware, standing on a roughly edged spreading base, cylindrical body, tapering slightly at neck then flaring to form everted lip rim; the whole covered in a very discoloured creamy tin glaze and painted in underglaze blue with horizontal lines and banding, interspersed with broader brush strokes and dots; the interior heavily crazed; the body damaged with holes to the base and to the upper side and the glaze chipped away in large patches exposing the dark buff earthenware body.
