¾ Port bow view of S.S. CAPTAIN LEMOS at Cardiff Docks.

EC2-S-C1 vessel built 1943 by California Shipbuilding Corp., Los Angeles as ARTHUR P. DAVIS (with engine by Joshua Hendy Ironworks, Sunnyvale, California), for the US War Shipping Administration (managed by American West African Line, New York). 1947 – Sold to North Valley Shipping Corp., USA, and renamed NORTH VALLEY (managed by Norton Lilley Management Corp., New York). 1950 – Sold to Estados Del Norte Cia. Nav., Panama, and renamed ANDRE (registered under the Greek flag and managed by Orion Shipping &Trading Co., New York). 1952 – Management undertaken by Seacrest Shipping Co., New York, and in 1957 by Seaways Shipping Co., also of New York. 1960 – Sold to Marero Compania Naviera SA, Panama (still under the Greek flag), and renamed CAPTAIN LEMOS (managed by Eagle Ocean Transport Inc., New York). 1961 – Management taken over by Lemos Bros., London, then in 1966 by Hunter Shipping Co., London. She was broken up at Shanghai in 1968. (mariners-l.co.uk / Libships)
