Teapot, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a foot rim, squat, globular form, c-scroll handle, up-curved spout springing from a gilt, male mask with open mouth and flowing hair, domed lid with a pagoda-shaped finial, decorated on either side with two scenes of ruins surrounded by elaborate cartouche of red and yellow scrolls, the style of which is repeated on the handle and lid.
