Roman samian bowl, decorated
Ovolo with bifid tongue terminal. Zonal decoration : (1) Festoons with cable-like bordering containing vine-sprays. They have junctions formed by astragali, and foliated pendants. (2) Repeated circular ornaments, probably intended to represent a foliage spiral. Seven-rayed rosettes in the field. Design closed by a basal ridge. Good brownish-red glaze.
