Sampler
LINEN, embroidered with coloured wools and black silk in cross stitch. Divided horizontally into three compartments. In the first compartment are Adam and Eve, denoted by "a" and “e”, the Tree of Knowledge and serpent, flowering plants and trees, birds, crowns and stars. The second contains Solomon’s Temple and a verse. The third compartment has floral, stag, dog and windmill designs. At the bottom is the maker’s name and date. There is a border of a wavy stem with strawberries.
