S.S. CAROLINE DAVIES. Built 1909 as J.O. GRAVEL by A. McMillan & Son Ltd, Dumbarton (GBR) and delivered in the May to Sincennes McNaughton Line Ltd, Montreal. British flag but registered at Montreal. 1913 – Sold to Roger Miller & Co (PEI) Ltd., Montreal (same name). 1916 – Acquired by the UK War Office, and renamed HS 45 (British flag, registered at London). 1918 – Transferred to the UK Admiralty and renamed J.O. GRAVEL. 1920 – Sold to General Works Construction Co Ltd., London, and renamed CLARENDON. 1922 – Sold to S. Pearson & Sons (Contracting Department) Ltd, at London (same name). 1925 – Sold to Manchester Ship Canal Co., Manchester (same name) 1952 – Sold to J. Davies Towage & Salvage Co Ltd (G A Guy), Cardiff, and renamed CAROLINE DAVIES. She broken up by Haulbowline Industries Ltd, Passage West, County Cork in 1962.
